Soul and Sport Ventures ™ To Offer Standup Paddling Clinic At Women's Adventure Event In Boulder

Soul and Sport Ventures™, a leader in multi-sport adventure retreat vacations for women, announced today its sponsorship of The Women’s Adventure. This inaugural event, produced by Women’s Adventure magazine, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 26, 2009 at the Boulder Reservoir in Boulder, Colorado, and will feature skills clinics, product demos and gear testing offered by a wide variety of women-owned businesses focused on sports, adventure, travel and wellness. Ann Hettinger, founder and managing director of Soul and Sport Ventures™, will lead a standup paddling clinic four times throughout the day—at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The company will also have a staffed booth at the event where visitors can learn about standup paddling or any of the other activities offered at Soul and Sport Ventures™’ weeklong retreats hosted in Kauai. “We are excited to be among these great sponsors,” said Hettinger. “Providing a supportive environment for women to pursue outdoor activities is really what Soul and Sport Ventures™ is all about. The clinic will include instruction in the water with Hettinger, and a discussion of various techniques, gear, and prime paddling areas around Colorado and the country.

Participants should be dressed for the water, with rash guards provided. In addition to standup paddling, the all-day event includes rock climbing, kayaking, yoga, orienteering, biking, and skiing—all catering to the novice as well as the seasoned adventurer—and providing a non-competitive and non-intimidating space in which to explore various activities. Also included in the admission will be beer, wine and food samples from local companies and the opportunity to win a kayak, a road bike and tents and other outdoor gear.

Kauai’s locally owned Soul and Sport Ventures™ announced today the launch of the company’s multi-sport adventure retreat series for women, to be held on the verdant North Shore of Kauai in Hawaii. The all-inclusive seven-night/eight-day packages run year-round, and features multi-sport activities, lodging at a private residence, and daily meals provided by an on-site chef utilizing locally grown and organic produce.
